General information:
Gentamicin belongs to a group of carbohydrate containing antibiotics called aminoglycosides. All the aminoglycosides are potentially toxic compounds causing significant damage in vestibular and auditory functions in humans as well as in animals. Within the EU, MRLs have been established for gentamicin residues in bovine milk (100 ppb), bovine/porcine muscle (50 ppb), fat (50 ppb), liver (200 ppb) and kidney (750 ppb). In combination with the streptomycin and neomycin ELISA we offer a unique panel for the detection of these three aminoglycosides in a range of matrices.
The Gentamicin ELISA is a competitive enzyme immunoassay based on antibodies directed against protein conjugated gentamicin.
